Not sure if it's worth trying another browser just out of curiosity. Totally unusable where flash is concerned on both the browsers in 12.04. Installed flashaid for FF, unistalled the plugin and installed the beta as this is advised on many help sites. No flash working on any sites I visited, not sure if that is down to the plugin crashing because I'm not sure if FF would inform me. Tried FF, first page I came to with flash FF nagged about the missing plugin so installed it using the browser itself. Plugin crashed on every occasion where flash was on the page which was almost every one. Started with chromium using the built in libflashplayer.so, also tried while running in 2D mode as this solved some peoples problems in other ubuntu help forums I browsed. *edit update, uninstalled chrome and all flash plugins re-booted. Coming home every night to have you fixed it yet Hence trying to get one working for now and jump off the other bridges later Trialling gnash last night it seems to work ok for most youtube stuff but my daughters most common sites playing games on cbeebies etc won't work. I have trawled the net looking for answers and from what I can make out the crashing plugin with chromium issue seems related to a conflict between the browsers own and the one out of the repo. As soon a I open a page containing flash chromium alerts me the plugin has crashed. The current state of the machine is I have uninstalled both gnash and adobe flash player and just trying the one in chromium enabled to try and single out the error. 3071 pts/1 S+ 0:00 grep -color=auto flashĮxcuse the ignorance, I'm not over familiar with code so I may have done that wrong.
